I have played on many sports teams and mustering energy and motivation after a loss is incredibly difficult. The Sox were impressive this year and they deserved to win the series. So is the curse really over regardless if they win the world series or not? My guess would be no. Yes, the BoSox finally killed off their archrivals in the NY Yankees, and in an awe inspiring fashion that put a smile on every non-Yankee fan's face out there. To do so, in the home that Ruth built added an even more mystique to it. But to end the curse, they must win it all, otherwise not only will a loss erase the greatest come back ever from the headlines, but will surely entrench a sense of defeat and déjà vu euphoria into all BoSox fan’s psyche for another generation, no matter how elated they feel this week. Great job BoSox, and I’d think it would be safe to say that all of Cubs Nation is definitely behind you.
