I could totally see what they were trying to achieve, I just think it fell kind of short of the mark. In the end I just found myself being very existentialist and wondering, "What’s the point and who really cares?" Hey, wait a minute, maybe they did succeed… Let me go find a ball and hit myself in the face with it a couple of times. Soup: What is the last film you bought?
Les Triplets de Bellville – excellent animated story with Canadian input and only two lines of dialogue– rent it, watch it, love it (the opening sequent is worth it alone).

Main Course: What is the last film you watched?
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou – not Wes’ best outing to date, but Bill Murray has still got it, not to mention the AWESOME Brazilian acoustic covers of Bowie songs.

Dessert: Name five films that mean something to you & why.
The Royal Tenenbaums – Wes Anderson is my guru. I love the complexity of the worlds he creates – this one being the deepest and most intricate.
Metropolitan – Wilt Stillman is my other guru. “There is no point in playing strip poker with an exhibitionist.” If only all dialogue could be this witty.
Blue Velvet – One of the greatest movies of all time and certainly the zenith of David Lynch’s career.
Moulin Rouge – Crammed 50 years of pop culture into 2 hours
2001 a Space Odyssey – Spent the last two years of high school getting baked and going on my own space odyssey watching this movie.

Man, this list could go on and on and on…

5 movies that mean something to me:
Rushmore - “did you say my mom gave you a handjob?”
Spinal Tap - “too much fucking perspective”
Clockwork Orange - “welly welly welly welly welly welly welly well”
One flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest - Danny Devito as martini
